Hazardous Waste Treatment

Safe, reliable and compliant high temperature treatment of Hazardous Waste

Hazardous Waste high temperature Treatment

Environ are world leading experts in the Hazardous Waste sector.

We design and build modern industrial high-temperature hazardous waste treatment plants, combined with cost-effective Energy Recovery technology.

Specifically focusing on the safe and compliant disposal of Hazardous Waste using established counter-current rotary kiln technology.

Hazardous Waste can be converted into sustainable and usable forms of clean energy, including heat, steam and electricity.

Our high temperature hazardous waste treatment plants comply with the requirement to maintain 1100° centigrade for two seconds to guarantee compliance with emission regulations.

Uses & Applications

What are the benefits?

The high-temperature hazardous waste treatment plant has the benefits of;

reducing treament costs

Hazardous waste can be dealt with onsite – removing the need to transport hazardous materials

reducing transport costs

Reduce reliance on third party treatment facilities

power generation

Power generated from the plant can off-set parasitic and site loads, surplus power can be exported to the grid

HEat generation

Utilise heat generated from the plant for a process or for district heating

We’ve teamed up with Dutch Incinerators, who have a wealth of experience relating to kiln technology and the safe disposal of hazardous waste.

Counter-current rotary kiln incineration is the preferred high temperature treatment solution for consistent and safe destruction of practically all combustible hazardous wastes, as listed in the European Waste Catalogue (EWC codes).

All incinerators are fully automated systems, designed for continuous 24/7 operation, with limited manpower requirement and low operational cost.

Unique design features have also been designed in-house to avoid fouling, slag agglomeration, clogging, corrosion and unscheduled premature system shutdowns.

The installation of a rotary kiln incinerator together with a waste shredding and pumping system solves many pre-treatment challenges.

who we are

Counter-current rotary kiln incinerator

Our latest project is a joint-venture with our partners, Dutch Incinerators, where we are installing a counter-current rotary kiln incinerator with a thermal input capacity of 20 MW.

The model being installed is capable of handling all forms of chemical and industrial waste.

The plant will have a throughput of at least 20,000 tonnes per year when it is commissioned in December 2025.

Marwell Wildlife Park – zoo poo

Environ has helped Marwell Zoo reduce their carbon footprint and operating costs by installing a world leading energy solution.
Marwell Zoo is home to over 1200 animals, most of which efficiently convert the 2500 bales of feed grown on the adjacent farmland into over 700 tonnes per annum of organic matter, also referred to as Zoo Poo
Marwell approached Environ to design and build a solution to use this zoo poo & straw bedding, which was historically disposed of off-site, as a fuel to reduce their carbon footprint.
Heating the buildings on site was identified as Marwell’s largest proportion of carbon emissions, so was an ideal target to help them achieve net zero.
Environ’s turnkey solution is an innovative and unique use of this type of zoo poo waste material as fuel in a compliant boiler to heat the Tropical House and other buildings on the Estate.
The installation is a world leading solution to reducing Marwell’s carbon footprint and operating costs.
